A partnership is primarily about loving and being loved! The following commitments reflect what that means to us at Liberty Church. (As our journey together deepens and matures, we expect that our mutual love for Jesus and His bride, the Church, will increase and that this will be reflected in a greater and deeper participation by each and every one of us.)

Commitment to Christ as we understand the term Christian (see John 1:12, 3:3) – this includes:
1. a personal commitment to Jesus as both Lord and Saviour
2. a personal commitment to live life according to His example and teachings
Commitment to the Community of Christ – this includes:
1. A dedication to the public teaching and personal study of scripture, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer (both personal and corporate)(see Acts 2:42)
2. A dedication to congregational fellowship and too small group fellowship (see Acts 2:46)
3. Commitment to maintaining a culture of unity and honouring one another, including those in leadership.
Commitment to the cause (vision) of Christ for Liberty – this means:
1. Build into and get behind what God has called our church to do, and the ways in which He is calling us to achieve this - 2 Corinthians 13:11 “…be of one mind, live in peace…” - Amos 3:3 “Do two walk together unless they agree to do so?”
Commitment to the Call of Christ in you for Liberty – this means:
1. Give generously of your time, talents and resources to the work of God through Liberty Church
2. Accept that your partnership in Liberty is active as long as you continue to participate in the fellowship.
Commitment to the Leadership of Liberty – this means:
1. Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as persons who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy and not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you (see Hebrews 13:17). { Personal decisions are not under the mandate of the elders}
2. The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honour, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching (see 1 Timothy 5:17). Elders are primarily responsible for:
3. Elders Responsibility as overseers
  1. Direction – activities that either the church or groups within the church participate in
  2. Doctrine – what is taught to people in the church
  3. Discipline – the regular activities that the church participates in and the corrections that may become necessary.
